Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Who doesn’t love cookie dough? Make it without egg and you have a tasty snack.

Nestles’ Toll House Cookies

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks)  butter, softened
¾  cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs (or ½ c. water)
2 cups Chocolate chips




Before you start your mise en place, determine if you’re making dough to eat or dough to bake.  For dough to eat, for each egg needed, replace it with ¼ c. water.  It will keep the dough moist and prevent food poisoning from Salmonella.

PREHEAT oven to 375 degrees F.

3. COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl, stirring with a wooden spoon.  Set aside.
4. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl on low speed until creamy and well blended..
5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
6. Gradually beat in flour mixture. When flour is well-blended, gently stir in chocolate chips.
7. Prepare a baking sheet by covering it with parchment paper.  Using your small scoop, place dough onto papered baking sheet (no more than 12 to a cookie sheet).
8. BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
