Yoshida’s Orange Chicken

This sweet, slightly spicy orange-flavored chicken dish brightens up a dreary winter day!

Quantity Measure Ingredient
½ c. Mr. Yoshida’s Original Gourmet Sauce
½ c. orange juice
1 ½   T orange rind
3 T honey
1 ½ lbs. chicken tenders
1 T. olive or canola oil

Directions

1. In a large bowl, mix orange juice, Yoshida’s sauce, honey and orange zest using a wooden spoon.
2. Add chicken to orange juice mixture and marinate (let sit) for 10 minutes.  Remove chicken with a slotted spoon.
3. If using marinade for a sauce for the chicken or on rice, place marinade in a small saucepan at medium temperature, simmering (almost boiling) for 2 minutes.  If not using, you can dispose of it down the drain.
4. Place olive oil in large sauté pan and cook on medium-high heat until oil is shimmering.
5. Cook chicken, turning once halfway through cooking (4-6 minutes) until done.  Then add reserved sauce, if desired.
6. Serve over rice, if desired. How to cook brown rice.
