||PREHEAT oven to 375 degrees F. Cover 2 baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
||SIFT together flour, baking soda and salt in mixing bowl. Stir with a wooden spoon. Set aside.
||BEAT butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar in large mixer bowl on low speed until creamy and well blended.
||MIX in a separate small bowl the egg and egg yolk. For class we are making a ½ recipe, so you will share this mixture with the kitchen next to you. Each kitchen will get 3 T. of the mixture.
||BEAT into the sugar mixture the vanilla and egg mixture, until light and creamy.
||MIX in the sifted ingredients until just blended. STIR in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.
||On the prepared baking sheet drop cookie dough using the ¼ cup measuring cup (no more than 6 cookies to a pan).
||BAKE for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown.
||Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
