Rylee & Tiana’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

2  cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
¾ cup  butter, unsalted, softened
1  cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 Egg yolk
2 cups Chocolate chips
1. PREHEAT oven to 375 degrees F. Cover 2 baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. SIFT together flour, baking soda and salt in mixing bowl. Stir with a wooden spoon.  Set aside.
3. BEAT butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar in large mixer bowl on low speed until creamy and well blended.
4. MIX in a separate small bowl the egg and egg yolk. For class we are making a ½ recipe, so you will share this mixture with the kitchen next to you. Each kitchen will get 3 T. of the mixture.
5. BEAT into the sugar mixture the vanilla and egg mixture, until light and creamy.
6. MIX in the sifted ingredients until just blended. STIR in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.
7. On the prepared  baking sheet drop cookie dough using the ¼ cup measuring cup (no more than 6 cookies to a pan).
8. BAKE for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
